KUALA LUMPUR, 17 May 2012 – Nusajaya, one of five key nodes of the Iskandar Malaysia megaproject, emerged as the winner in the Master Plan Category at the prestigious FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards 2012.

The award was received by UEM Land Holdings Berhad (“UEM Land”) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Wan Abdullah Wan Ibrahim at an awards presentation ceremony in St. Petersburg, Russia.

“We are honoured with achieving this accolade from a renowned world body like FIABCI for our new regional city – Nusajaya. As the master developer of Nusajaya, we are proud that Nusajaya is presented with this international recognition as we continue to push forward and realise its signature and catalytic developments. Aptly, 2012 sets the stage for Nusajaya to achieve its tipping point where the splendour of its diverse signature developments will unfold,” said Dato’ Wan Abdullah.

Last October, Nusajaya was named the Best Master Plan at the FIABCI Malaysia Property Award 2011 while UEM Land’s luxurious 10 Mont’Kiara development was a joint winner in the Residential (High-Rise) Category.

UEM Land had previously won two FIABCI Malaysia Property Award recognitions – Best Master Plan for Puteri Harbour in 2009 while Kota Iskandar (Phase 1) was the winner for the Public Sector Category in 2010. Both Puteri Harbour and Kota Iskandar went on to receive runner-up trophies at the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

The FIABCI Prix d'Excellence Awards recognise projects that best embody excellence in all real estate disciplines involved in their creation.

Winning projects are judged based on a set of criteria which include architecture, development, environmental impact, financials and marketing and are selected by an international panel of real estate professionals and experts.
