PETALING JAYA, 31 January 2013 - The Gunung Semanggol (Southbound) Rest and Service Areas (RSA) at the KM194.6 on the North-South Expressway (NSE) will be temporarily closed on 1 February (Friday) from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm for maintenance works.

As such, all stalls and other public facilities at the rest area, except the existing petrol station and fast food restaurant, will be temporarily closed to public.

PETALING JAYA, 25 January 2013 - PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) wishes to inform that the Tapah Rest and Service Areas (RSA) on the North-South Expressway (NSE) will be temporarily closed to facilitate maintenance works as follows:-

Kuala Lumpur, 25 January 2013 - Faber Medi-Serve Sdn Bhd (“FMS”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Faber Group Berhad (“Faber”) announced that it has today received three (3) letters all dated 23rd January 2013 from the Public Private Partnership Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department pertaining to the new concession agreements on the Privatisation of the Hospital Support Services (HSS) of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).

The Government of Malaysia in principle has agreed to the followings:

1. For Northern Region of Peninsular Malaysia

FMS to implement the new concession for the Northern Region of Peninsular Malaysia (Perak, Pulau Pinang, Kedah and Perlis) for a period of ten (10) years with the new service fee at an increase of 5.8% from the 2011 Peninsular Malaysia service fee and a further RM16.572 million per annum for the Sustainability Programme, subject to the terms and conditions of the Privatisation of the HSS to be negotiated between the Government and FMS;

2. For Sabah Zone

The new concession for the Sabah Zone is to be implemented by a new Consortium Company of which FMS will hold 40% equity interest an another 60% equity interest will be held by ICare Consortium Sdn Bhd. The new concession will be for a period of ten (10) years with the new service fee (including the Sustainability Programme) at an increase of 7.8% from the 2011 Sabah service fee, subject to the terms and conditions of the Privatisation of the HSS to be negotiated between the Government and the Consortium Company.

3. For Sarawak Zone

The new concession for the Sarawak Zone is to be implemented by a new Consortium Company, of which FMS will hold 40% equity interest and another 60% equity interest will be held by another consortium company through Metrocare Services Sdn. Bhd and the joint venture between Simfoni Dua Sdn Bhd and Perbadanan Pembangunan Ekonomi Sarawak. The new concession will be for a period of tem (10) years with the new service fee (including the Sustainability Programme) at an increase of 8.1% from the 2011 Sarawak service fee, subject to the terms and conditions of the Privatisation of the HSS to be negotiated between the Government and the Consortium Company.

Faber’s Managing Director, Adnan Mohammad said: “We are confident that we will be able to agree on the new terms and conditions for the implementation of the new concession for Peninsular Malaysia. We will also work closely with the Consortium companies in Sabah and Sarawak respectively for the implementation of the new concessions in these states”.

“We Thank the Government for the opportunity and their confidence in our services, and we will aspire to continue improving the standards of the Integrated Facilities Management Services particularly the Hospital Support Services”, he concluded.

SEREMBAN, 23 January 2013 - PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) presented a prosthetic leg to its' staff Mohd Haffiz Zamri, who was injured in a shooting and robbery incident at the Seremban Toll Plaza a few months ago.

PLUS’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid officially presented the prosthetic leg to Haffiz in a ceremony held at the PLUS S1 Section Office at the Pedas-Linggi Toll Plaza, today.

According Noorizah, “PLUS views safety issues of our staff seriously and various measures have and will be taken to ensure the safety of our staff is not being compromised. These include stationing armed security guards at toll plazas, providing strict procedures and so on.”

All medical and rehabilitation cost, including walking equipment and the prosthetic leg for Hafiz are fully-borne by PLUS.

“In addition, Haffiz will also be employed by PLUS until he retires. He now works at the S1 Section Office at the Pedas-Linggi Toll Plaza as a management assistant,” added Noorizah.

Noorizah also highlights that the Seremban Toll Plaza robbery and shooting incident took place when a dedicated covered walkway and bridge for staff, aimed at improving the safety of the staff at the toll plaza, was being built.

“The shooting incident took place in June last year. Meanwhile, the construction works of the dedicated covered walkway and bridge started in October 2011 and was fully completed in mid-August last year,” she elaborated.

According to Noorizah, the construction of the dedicated 432-metre walkway and bridge received positive responses from the staff at the toll plaza.

“Our staff at the Seremban Toll Plaza are very pleased with the new facility as it makes their movement to toll booths and the toll plaza operational office more comfortable, more convenient and much safer,” Noorizah ended.

According to Noorizah, the construction of the dedicated 432-metre walkway and bridge received positive responses from the staff at the toll plaza.

PETALING JAYA, 11 January 2013 - PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) would like to inform that a traffic diversion is being activated until 10 April at KM P1.85-KM P3.0 involving the Selangor Science Park 2 Interchange (between the Putrajaya Toll and Putrajaya/Cyberjaya) on the Lingkaran Putrajaya stretch to facilitate bridge inspection works by a developer.

As such, PLUS advises all users plying the stretch to drive carefully and follow all traffic signages and instructions at the area.

The road diversion will be closed to all heavy vehicles between 7:00 am until 8:30 am Monday to Friday.

Alternatively, users from the ELITE highway heading towards Putrajaya or Cyberjaya are advised to exit the highway via the Saujana Putra Interchange before entering the SKVE highway to Putrajaya/Cyberjaya.

PETALING JAYA, 4 January 2013 - In an effort to provide more convenience to highway users, Projek Lebuhraya Usahasama Berhad (PLUS) will be upgrading pavement works at the Behrang Lay-by (Northbound) at KM383.2 on the North-South Expressway.

During the period, the existing facility will be closed to public for a month beginning 7 January (Monday) to 7 February to facilitate the upgrading work.

As such, highway customers are advised to utilize the Tanjung Malim Lay-by (Northbound) at KM396.4 or Ladang Bikam Lay-by (Northbound) at KM347.4 should they need to stop for rest and other needs.
