Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM)

A campus packed with facilities and services away from the city's hustle and bustle that will help you build a solid foundation in preparing for the undergraduate life. Established in 1998, Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM) is a premier residential college specialising in providing top quality Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) A-Levels education.

The success of our students is testament of the quality of education that we provide at KYUEM. Over the years, they have won international accolades including being named 'Top in the World' in several subjects and they are now alumni of prestigious universities around the globe.

Our Initiatives

UEM Study Grant

Good deeds begin at home. Through UEM Study Grant, we provide financial assistance for children of eligible employees across UEM Group of Companies, allowing them to pursue tertiary education in any full-time course at a public or private college or university or even at a vocational or technical institute.

Back-to-School Programme

Yayasan UEM’s Back-to-School programme aims to alleviate financial burdens of underprivileged families with school–going children. Every year, we deliver uniforms, sports attires, bags, socks, shoes and even reusable sanitary pads to students in various parts of Malaysia. To date, our deliveries have benefited more than 66,000 students.

Collaboration with Yayasan AMIR

We have been a supporter of Trust Schools Programme since 2014 as we believe it is a comprehensive and sustainable school transformation initiative aimed at improving student outcomes and revitalising school culture. Together with Yayasan AMIR, we aim to develop holistic students with 21st century competencies and schools that embed sustainable education practices.

Peer Assisted Learning & Sharing Programme (PALS)

PALS is scaling the impact of educational transformation initiatives by building and expanding on the success and learnings of Trust Schools Programme with peer schools. PALS focuses on teachers where it provides mentorship and shared learnings to improve teaching quality and support.

No Students Left Behind,
Free Tuition Programme

While tuition is a choice to complement formal education provided in schools, it is often seen as a luxury to underprivileged families and students living in rural areas. As part of our efforts to help narrow the education gap between urban and rural students, we form partnerships with District Education Offices and provide year-round tuition classes to underprivileged students in key subjects such as Mathematics, Bahasa Melayu, Science and English.

Teacher Fellowship Programme at SMK Bawong

Between 2012-2016, the average UPSR passing of Orang Asli students were 43.8%, far below the national average of 86.5%. In 2021, some 42.29% of students did not complete schooling (up to Form 5) in 2021 and only 2% completed tertiary / university education. We want to make a difference. We want to encourage and provide these students the support they need to pursue higher education and break the cycle of poverty.

STEM Programme

Our STEM programme emphasises on hands-on and engaging activities designed to foster a love for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics among students. The programme includes comprehensive STEM training for teachers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to deliver effective and innovative lessons.

Students actively participate in a six-month learning journey, focusing on computer programming and coding. Through interactive projects and problem-solving challenges, they develop critical thinking, creativity, and technical skills essential for the future. This immersive approach ensures both teachers and students are well-prepared to excel in the evolving digital landscape.
