Datuk Hisham Hamdan was appointed as Chairman and Director of UEM Group Berhad on 1 August 2024.
Datuk Hisham Hamdan has over 30 years of working experience in senior leadership and board positions. His expertise spans a variety of corporate structures (portfolio, conglomerate, and business unit) encompassing businesses in various sectors and multiple countries. During his career, he spent 12 years in the capital markets, focusing on equity research and investment banking, working with various international banks.
He is currently the Chief Investment Officer of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”), the strategic investment fund for the Government of Malaysia. With a wealth of experience in portfolio management, strategy, operations, corporate finance and business development, he assumed leadership of the Khazanah's Investments Division in March 2024 and is responsible for managing and growing Khazanah's multi-mandate and multi-asset portfolio.
Since 2018, he has served as Head of Public Markets in Khazanah, which has a mandate to invest in more than 10 countries worldwide across Developed Markets and Emerging Markets underpinned by systematic and quantamental investment strategies. Prior to Public Markets, he was responsible for the Auto, Agrifood and Iskandar Malaysia in Khazanah's portfolio and served as Executive Director of Research. Additionally, he has served as Chairman of UDA Holdings Berhad as well as a member of the Boards of Iskandar Investment Berhad and ValueCAP Sdn Bhd, respectively.
Before joining Khazanah in April 2011, he was the Head of Strategy at Sime Darby and subsequently served as EVP of Sime Darby's businesses in the healthcare and utility sectors as well as in China. At present, Datuk Hisham also serves as the Chairman of UEM Sunrise Berhad and Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He is a founding member of the Board of Trustees of Khazanah Research institute (“KRl”). He holds dual degrees in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Management from Purdue University, United States and has also completed the Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Programme.

Datuk Amran Hafiz Affifudin was appointed to the Board of UEM Group Berhad (“UEM”) on 15 April 2022 and re-designated as Chairman on 1 January 2023. He was subsequently re-designated and appointed as the Managing Director on 1 August 2024.
Datuk Amran was previously the Executive Director and Head of Asset Development Group, overseeing Khazanah Nasional Berhad ("Khazanah")'s Malaysian Investments. Prior to this, Datuk Amran, who has over 27 years of experience, was responsible for Khazanah's investments in various sectors including Energy, Iskandar, Leisure & Tourism, Infrastructure, Power, Agrifood, Indonesia and Sustainable Development.
He began his career in 1997 with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (“PETRONAS”) in corporate finance and treasury functions. He then transitioned to the private equity industry before joining Khazanah in 2011.
He is also a Director of UEM Sunrise Berhad, UEM Edgenta Berhad, UEM Lestra Berhad, PLUS Malaysia Berhad, Projek Lebuhraya Usahasama Berhad, PLUS Expressways International Berhad, Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad, Cenergi SEA Berhad, UEM Builders Berhad, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, Konsortium ProHAWK Sdn Bhd and several private entities under UEM.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance from McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, United States of America and Executive/Professional courses from Harvard Business School in the United States, as well as at London Business School, United Kingdom.

Dato' Mohamed Nasri Sallehuddin was appointed to the Board of UEM Group Berhad on 1 June 2016.
Dato' Nasri is currently the Executive Director, General Counsel, Company Secretary and Head of Corporate & Support Services at Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
Dato' Nasri obtained his Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom in 1993. He was admitted to Gray’s Inn as a Barrister-at-law in 1995 and after having completed his pupillage in Malaysia, Dato’ Nasri was admitted to the High Court of Malaya as an Advocate and Solicitor in 1996. He also holds an MBA from University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.
Currently he is a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Think City Sdn Bhd, Chairman of Taman Tugu Project Development Sdn Bhd and Chairman of Destinations Resorts and Hotels Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels Sdn Bhd).

Mohd Asrul Ab Rahim was appointed to the Board of UEM Group Berhad on 15 April 2022.
Mohd Asrul Ab Rahim is currently a Director in the Investments Division of Khazanah Nasional Berhad. His work experience spanned multiple industries including healthcare, infrastructure and automotive.
He started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in London focusing on assurance practice covering global clients in broad industries portfolio including healthcare, energy, property and consumer retail. He later joined PwC Capital in Kuala Lumpur specialising in corporate finance advisory. He was also a General Manager with DRB-HICOM Berhad heading its corporate strategy and business development functions.
He currently sits on the Boards of UEM Edgenta Berhad and UEM Lestra Berhad.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and holds a BSc. in Accounting and Finance (First Class Honors) from the London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom.

Effizal Faiz Zulkifly was appointed to the Board of UEM Group Berhad (“UEM”) on 1 July 2023.
Effizal is currently Head, Energy Transition at Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”). He joined Khazanah in 2007 and has covered the infrastructure and telecommunication space including UEM, Telekom Malaysia Berhad and Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad. He had spent a year on secondment with Khazanah Americas incorporated in San Francisco in 2016 and following that continued his exposure within the infrastructure sector through his coverage of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad. He led the Internet & Technology sector and the Innovation & Entrepreneurship sector coverage up until 2018. Prior to Khazanah, he spent 4 years as a business analyst with Citibank Berhad.
Currently he sits on the Board of Farm Fresh Berhad, Yayasan Hijau Malaysia and several private entities.
He holds a Master of Commerce, Finance and Business Information System from University of Sydney, Australia; a Master of Business Administration, MIT Sloan Fellows Program from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States of America and a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting from University of Queensland, Australia.

Nicholas Khaw Hock-Lu was appointed to the Board of UEM Group Berhad on 13 January 2025.
Nicholas Khaw is currently the Head, Research and Co-Head, Private Markets at Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”). He joined Khazanah in April 2011 from the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department, where he started his career as a macroeconomist.
Currently, he sits on the Boards of Khazanah Research Institute and Yayasan Khazanah. He is a monthly contributor to The Edge Malaysia’s Forum column.
He holds a Master in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Harvard College, United States. He is currently pursuing a part-time PhD in Political Economy Research at King’s College London.

Faridah Bakar Ali was appointed to the Board of UEM Group Berhad on 20 March 2025.
Faridah is the Chief Financial Officer at Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) having joined Khazanah in May 2006 after building a career in accountancy and finance with PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia and BP Malaysia.
In Khazanah, Faridah worked on many transactions including several notable ones including the world’s inaugural first Exchangeable Sukuk of USD750 million into Telekom Malaysia shares in 2006 as well as the world’s first negative yield sukuk into Parkson shares in 2012.
She is a Board member and Audit Chair of Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad and its subsidiary, Malaysia Airlines Berhad.
She is also a Board member and Audit chair of Securities Industry Development Corporation, the training arm of Securities Commission.
She graduated from Lancaster University in Accounting and Finance and is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
